This tropical shrub lives up to its name! Gently rub the soft, slightly fuzzy leaves and you’ll get a fun surprise—the unmistakable scent of buttered popcorn (or peanut butter, depending on your nose). It’s a favorite among kids and garden visitors alike.
Also called Popcorn Plant or sometimes Candelabra Tree (though that name more often refers to Senna alata), this sun-loving, heat-tolerant shrub adds a splash of summerlong color and a lush, tropical feel to any garden.
